An Introduction To The Maritime Steam Restoration Trust
We are four individuals who firmly believe that Historic
Steam Powered Vessels still have a role to play within the Maritime History
of Great Britain have set up the Maritime Steam Restoration Trust as a
Registered Charity. We accept that not all steam-powered vessels are capable
of being returned to ‘full working order’. But we feel that
where possible equipment on these vessels should be put back into working
order, after all if this is done then it makes the whole experience more
interesting and therefore will attract more visitors, which in turn means
more income for the Trust!
The main objectives of The Maritime Steam Restoration Trust are as follows:
- THE RESTORATION, PRESERVATION AND USE OF MARITIME STEAM POWERED VESSELS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC.
- TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC AND IN PARTICULAR YOUNG PEOPLE AND THE UNEMPLOYED IN ALL ASPECTS OF MARITIME STEAM VESSEL RESTORATION AND OPERATION AND THE HISTORY AND USE OF SUCH VESSELS.
